Code of Ethics is not just a required course for NAR membership; it sets REALTORS® above the standard.
- Heightens member awareness of the key tenets of the Code of Ethics
- Creates awareness of and appreciation for the role the Code can and should play in their professional lives
- Enhance professionalism and competency
- Encourages REALTORS® to view their Code of Ethics as a living, viable guide in their daily dealings with clients, customers and the public
The National Association of REALTORS® requires all REALTORS® to complete a 2 1/2 hour course on ethics by Friday, December 31, 2024.
The Code of Ethics requirement is a membership requirement, not a Washington real estate license renewal requirement.
New Members
All new TPCAR members should complete a Code of Ethics class within their first 120-days of membership. You can take NAR REALTOR® Code of Ethics New Member Course online. This course is free and does not offer CE credit.
All Members
Please note that ALL REALTORS® are REQUIRED to complete a Code of Ethics course by Friday, December 31, 2024. Failure to fulfill this requirement will result in membership suspension. If members don’t take a Code of Ethics class by the following February 28, NAR requires us to terminate those members until the class is taken and reported to TPCAR. Access to Association benefits will also be inactivated, and a $50 non-compliance fee will be added to your account. We strongly encourage you to take a NAR approved Code of Ethics class and submit it to TPCAR before the due date
